Privacy Policy · KoiGlide
Last updated: October 17, 2026
KoiGlide (hereinafter “the Software”) is maintained by an independent developer. This policy explains how we handle information related to you. In short: the Software runs locally on your device, and we collect no information that directly identifies you.
1. Information We Collect
- does not require account registration;
- collects no information that identifies you personally, such as your name or email;
- connects to the network in exactly three cases: (1) license activation and verification — at activation and at each subsequent start it contacts the licensing service to confirm license status; during the trial, one device identifier is sent to fetch the trial assets. The app works fully offline. (2) the optional weather feature — this needs your own OpenWeatherMap API Key, and only after you configure and enable it will a coarse location (city-level) be sent to that service to retrieve weather; (3) anonymous usage statistics — see the item below;
- does not read unrelated files on your device.
- Anonymous usage statistics: to understand overall usage, the app reports a small number of anonymous events (install, trial, activation and similar milestones). Each report contains only non-personal information such as the event name, app version and UI language. These statistics never include your license credentials, device identifiers, IP address or any screen content, and the server only aggregates counts, so they cannot be tied to any individual. There is no prompt and no in-app switch for this; if you prefer to disable it, you can restrict its network access through your system firewall or similar means, with no loss of functionality.
- Data retention: the device identifier sent to determine trial eligibility is kept only for as long as necessary for that purpose, and is then deleted or anonymised. The anonymous statistics contain no identifiers and may be retained long-term.
2. Payment Information
Purchases are completed through a third-party platform; we do not store your payment credentials:
- A third-party payment provider processes credit-card / PayPal payments and issues the License Key.
3. Support Communication
When you voluntarily contact us at [email protected], we receive the email address and content you provide. We use them solely to reply to your question and for no other purpose.
4. Website Storage and Analytics
This official site carries no ads, but it does use Google Analytics 4 to count page views, so we can see which pages get read. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects your approximate location, your device and browser information, and the pages you view. It never receives your name, email address, or payment details. It runs only after you tap Accept in the notice at the bottom of the page; if you tap Reject, no analytics cookies are set and nothing is sent to Google. Your choice is stored on this device only, and you can change it by clearing this site's data. Event-level data is kept for 2 months. Google processes this data as our processor under the Google Analytics Data Processing Terms. Transfers of EU visitor data to the United States rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, with Standard Contractual Clauses as a fallback. We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties.
5. Your Rights
You may write to us at any time to request deletion of your personal information contained in that correspondence, and we will process it within a reasonable time.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date, and major changes will be announced separately.
